Video Review: Montblanc Meisterstück 149

So, I was visiting my favorite store in Seattle (a.k.a. World Lux) and saw this little (a.k.a. gigantic) beauty in the pre-owned pen case.  It’s a ca. 1985 Montblanc Meisterstück 149.  Beautiful pen, smooth writer, gigantic.  I like it a lot.

    Hi Matt,

you wondered, what the “4810” on the nib means? It’s simply the height of the Montblanc, the highest mountain in Europe. 🙂
The export models usually are named “Masterpiece” instead of “Meisterstück”. Different language – same meaning, so you found a german pen!
By the way: Nice reviews – I like them a lot!

    Greetings from Germany
(near Hamburg, where Montblanc comes from)

I bought a 149 a couple of days ago. And I must say I love it. That classic black understated look. The large size. (I have big hands, In fact the Pelikan M800 is on the small side for my taste.) The sigar shape. (I’m a huge fan of sigar shaped pens.) The medium nib is smooth and no skipping. Even the wider grip section feels comfortable in my hands. So, as much as I love my Pelikan M 1000 (With that wonderful springy nib) and the stunning looking Omas Ogiva Celluloide, this pen became my favourite. (Out of my small collection of 7 pens.)
