Happy New Year 2016!

The text:

Dear Pen Habit Friends,

2015 has been such a wonderful and crazy year. Pens were purchased, ink consumed, paper filled. Friends were made, friendships strengthened. Reviews were recorded, blog posts written, questions answered, comments left, and booty (of the fine writing variety) given away.

2015 was the year The Pen Habit evolved moreso than ever before. I gained a better understanding of myself, the kinds of pens I like, and how to get better video lighting! I continue to work on my handwriting. I am learning how to ignore the trolls and I am becoming more confident in who I am as a person.

None of this could have been possible were it not for the many thousands of wonderful people who watch or read my reviews, for the lovely cards and letters I receive from complete strangers, or for the emails, tweets, and comments of support I receive on a daily basis. Thank you.

And thank you to the wonderful retailers who have provided financial or material support to The Pen Habit. To our sponsors, Pen Chalet, Fontoplumo, La Couronne du Comte, and Pen World, THANK YOU! Also to the good folks at Goldspot Pens and Goulet Pens for providing review materials.

And a huge thank you as well to the amazing and generous donors who support me via PayPal or Patreon (or some other way!).

As this year comes to a close, I am grateful for the community of stylophiles I get to be a part of. I am grateful for the blessings of good friends I have only ever met online (or perhaps once in person.) And I am grateful that I discovered the joy of a perfectly smooth nib floating effortlessly across a stark white sheet of good paper–the pools of ink, glistening as they dry.

I can’t say it enough. Thank You!

I wish for each of you to have a happy, healthy, loving, glorious 2016! With lots of inky fingers!

With much love,

Matthew S. Armstrong
